David Villalón graduated in History at the University of Huelva (Spain) and obtained an European Master's Degree on Geographic Information Technology from the University of Zaragoza (Spain) and a Master's Degree in Cultural Management from the University os Seville (Spain).
His career in Cartography & Digital Image Laboratorie starts in November 2005, working as external expertise in several projects related to geographic information, new technologies and cultural heritage, until December 2008 when he obtain a GIS senior technician.
Previously he has worked as freelance at the Directorate General of Cultural Goods, assigned to both the Protection Service, raising spatial limits of Assets of Cultural Interest and protective environments, as in the Research and Diffusion Services, leading the technical coordination of the european project Smita (Tourist Information System for mobile devices) for the Ministry of Culture. It has also worked as an archaeologist in the control and monitoring of interventions at the Heritage. Has enjoyed a Leonardo grant 6 months in Padova (Italy) in the EDS enterprise e Cultura Informatica srl (http://www.edsiec.it)
