Rute Sofia

Rute holds a degree (95) in in Informatics Engineering, University of Coimbra; MSc (98), PhD (04) in Informatics, University of Lisbon. She was (00) a Visiting Scholar at ICAIR, Evanston, USA, and at the MNLab, University of Pennsylvania, USA (00-03). She was a senior research scientist (04) at the Bundeswehr Universitaet in Munich and at SIEMENS AG Corporate Technology/Nokia-Siemens Networks, Munich (04-07), focusing on Future Internet topics and novel forwarding paradigms (e.g. frame routing). She holds a series of publications and patents in her fields of work. She was (07-10) the co-leader of the Internet Architectures and Networking (IAN) team, UTM, INESC Porto. Her research interests relate to advanced forwarding and routing; mobility aspects such as management and modeling; resource management in wireless networks; cooperative networking. She has been actively involved in several IETF groups and is an IEEE and an ACM SIGCOMM member. In addition to her research, Rute is also an Associate Professor at ULHT.
