Dr. Xenofontas Dimitropoulos is a Senior Researcher and Lecturer in the Computer Engineering and Networks Laboratory of ETH Zurich. He received his PhD in 2006 from Georgia Tech. His research focuses on network monitoring and security and on software defined networks. He often uses network measurements to understand how complex systems, like the Internet, work in practice. He has published more than 50 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences, like the ACM/IEEE Transactions on Networking, and holds 3 patents. He serves in the Organizing Committee of the flagship networking conference, ACM SIGCOMM, and has won a Marie Curie and a Fulbright Award. In the past, he worked in the University of California, San Diego and in IBM Research.
